"There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goal," Idowu Koyenikan. As a result of working with partners and the community of Mukuru Kwa Reuben, we were able to secure a structure, equip it and launch a community library on the 10th August 2019. Some of our supporters and partners during the launch included Reading Spots, Jomo Kenyatta Foundation, Red Cross-University of Nairobi, HOPE Worldwide Kenya, Muungano wa Wanavijiji, Isuzu East Africa, Akili Dada, Ruben FM, and the local community members and leaders such as the Education Officer.

The launch of the community library was a success on another level. People came out in large numbers and we were able to receive positive feedback. The joy that filled the place was beyond what can be explained, people just wanted to volunteer or do something to make sure it is a success. Before the launch we had a live interview with one of the radio stations, Ruben FM, who played a major role in ensuring people are aware of the initiative. Our guest speaker was Mr. Tobias from Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.

The team worked tirelessly with selfless dedication in order to achieve our intended goal. Badili Zone is truly blessed to have such an amazing team. Badili Zone family believes that we have a responsibility to make the world a better place, and that is the fundamental of why we do what we do. We are all looking forward this amazing journey of transforming the community.
